Today I turned 40.
Sure I may joke and make fun that I’m still in my 20’s or 30’s but I’m not, I’m 40. The fact of the matter is I’m fine with 40. In all honestly today was a great day, possibly one of the best ever. Why hide your age when it comes with such great experiences?
Now I can’t go into those great experiences too much because they are all follow up blog posts but they were great, and they were only possible because of who I am and where I am at this point in my life. What I’ve learned over the past year is what I should and shouldn’t take for granted. Here are the most important facts of the day: Noone was more excited for today than my daughter, my son’s accomplishments today happily overshadowed this “milestone” birthday, and I finally learned how to simply relax, sit back and enjoy the ride (ok I can’t promise that last one is going to last forever).
So now I officially launch my blog and start to talk about these everyday things and the experiences of the last year and those ahead of me. I’m at a point in my life where while it’s certainly not the easiest it’s the best it’s ever been, especially for my sanity and well being. My promise to myself is now also that once I get over the celebratory food and drink it’s time to start taking health more serious as well, my weight today was 193.2 and I intend to make better on that.
For now I leave you with some cake courtesy of today’s Google search and hope you’ll return for more later in the week.
